Coater sees +40% production gain using -50% less chemistry

Case Study

Mikon Products, a family-owned liquid and powder paint business in Oxford, Connecticut, faced challenges while searching for a phosphate cleaner suitable for various substrates with unknown contaminants. They also needed to prevent flash rusting before oven drying and wanted to add an in-process corrosion preventative that would not impact paint adhesion. To address these issues, Hubbard-Hall conducted an on-site review of Mikon’s equipment and processes, ultimately recommending Mi-Phos 22PW EX.

  • Mi-Phos 22PW EX: A liquid concentrate that cleans and produces a tenacious phosphate undercoating on steel and some zinc and aluminum alloys.
  • Emerald Seal 303: An in-process flash rust inhibitor providing additional corrosion protection for metal under paint or adhesive coatings.
